Saturday 29 October - SA Shores Water Safety Program

Surf Life Saving South Australia is providing the ‘Welcome to SA Shores’ program where participants will learn vital skills to prepare them for an Australian summer.
'Welcome to SA Shores' is a six-week program for children, teens, and adults to learn about water safety. Because of the dynamic and complex coastal environment, the first 5 sessions are delivered in a pool setting before heading to the beach for the final session with our Surf Life Savers.

The need for aid in Ukraine is ever more pressing. The Stand with Ukraine Charity Concert on the 8th of October will give all proceeds to those left on the ground in Ukraine through the Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations (AFUO). The AFUO have coordinated the Ukraine Crisis Appeal in Australia targeted at delivering humanitarian aid for those in and fleeing Ukraine, and shelter for internally displaced peoples.

Thursday 15 September 2022 - 7pm Український народний дім, Hindmarsh

Help Ukrainians Australia (HUA) are running a session to assist recently arrived Ukrainians in securing a rental property in South Australia. The session will be run by HUA support worker Tania Jarema-Norton and will be translated by Marina Mostepan.

A concert celebrating the life of Taras Shevchenko, the great Ukrainian Poet, artist and symbol of Ukrainian Independence. Presented by the Association of Ukrainians in South Australia.

23rd February 2023 5pm - 6:30pm - Rally at Parliament House

The SA Parliament’s last sitting day is on Thursday 23rd of February – after this Parliament goes into recess.

To maximize the publicity for the 1st Anniversary of the Russian Invasion (launched on 24 February 2022) we will hold a rally on the steps of Parliament House on Thursday 23 February at 5:30 to start 6:00 PM. 

We expect a lot of media attention and support from our Government Ministers and Parliamentary leaders. SAVE the DATE and watch this space – we will provide a lot more information over the next few weeks.

HUA Employment co-ordinator Marina Mostepan is running and employment session along with Local Recruitment Agency Owner Andrew Sullivan (www.sullivanconsulting.com.au)
The Session Will cover:
- Planning & improving your Resume
- Looking for your first job in Australia
- Planning to change jobs in Australia
- Preparing for job interview
- Pensions and salary accrual
- Workers rights in Australia

The session is exclusively for Ukrainians and will be translated to Ukrainian by Marina. 5pm in the Kozak Bar, upstairs at the Український Народний Дім Hindmarsh SA.

Friday 10 February 2023 - 6pm, 2023 Term 1 commences for HOPAK Ukrainian Dance School Adelaide and Ukrainian School Adelaide - Український народний дім, Hindmarsh

Friday 10th of February marks the start of the school year (term 1) for our community schools. Both the Ukrainian Community (Language) School and Hopak Ukrainian Dance School will begin classes on Friday 10 February.

Please arrive promptly at 6pm for a blessing to start the year prior to classes commencing.

Thursday 25th May 2023 - Fundraising Dinner for Canoe Sprint champion Max Gandziuk.

Maksym “Max” Gandziuk is a displaced Ukrainian who came to SA last year with his mother.
Through dedication and hard work, he has achieved the title of national Australian Junior Champion in Canoe Sprint.
Max has been selected to compete (as part of the Australian team) in Italy in the Junior Canoe Sprint World Championships in July 2023.

Sunday 4th June 2023 - Fundraising Movie Screening - Mavka, The Forest Song

Mavka - The Forest Song - a beautiful animated Ukrainian movie suitable for all ages will be screened on Sunday 4th June 2023 at Event Cinemas, Marion. Mavka was produced in Ukraine by FILM UA Group and distributed by Disney. The film is suitable for all ages.

Dinner Fundraiser - Saturday 6 August 2022 at 6:00 for 6:30 pm

Marijka Ryan in conjunction with AUSA is organizing a huge fundraising event at Sferas Park Suites & Convention Centre on Saturday 6 August. Tickets are $80 per person and will include an excellent 3-course dinner and entertainment by Volya Ukrainian Cossack Dancers. Please support this all-important fundraising event. All proceeds will be donated to Ukrainian Relief Appeals and to support Ukrainian refugees in South Australia.





Concert for Peace - Fundraiser - Saturday 13 August 2022 - 7:00 to 9:00 pm

The Medical Association for the Prevention of War (MAPW) will hold a classical ‘Concert for Peace’ in August - this will be a piano recital by one of their medical colleagues from Canberra who is a gifted concert pianist, Dr Robert Schmidli. The concert will be held on Saturday 13th August at UKARIA in the Adelaide Hills (119 Williams Road, Mt Barker Summit) thanks to the generous support of Dr Ulrike Klein who has gifted the venue for the evening.  MAPW will donate all proceeds to go as aid to help Ukrainian refugees settling in Australia.
