Amazing initiative funded by Jobs Victoria, by the Accommodation Association to encourage New Talent in the Accommodation and Hospitality Industry.

THE SELECTION CRITERIA FOR ALL NEW TALENT

  • No experience is needed just a passion and enthusiasm for the Accommodation and Hospitality Industry.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and able to work a minimum of 20 Hours per week with early mornings, late nights & weekends Must be able to commit to and complete 5 full-time days of training (9-5 pm)
  • Must be in one of the following cohorts –
    • Women over 45 years Young people aged 18 – 24 years
    • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Victorians
    • Victorians living with disability
    • People who are long-term unemployed or at risk of being long-term unemployed
    • People seeking asylum and refugees
    • Newly arrived migrants from non-English speaking backgrounds
    • Veterans
    • People who have recently exited the justice system
    • People from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds
    • Public and social housing tenants

Recruit – Confirm eligibility – Attend our free & fun interactive Open Day

Educate – 5 days of paid training** – We train in Hotels, to provide on the job practical experiences

Employ – Match you with the most appropriate job vacancy. We work with Hotels & Accommodation Services to offer Part-time & Full-time on-going employment

Support – Prepare & assist you with interviews – Engage you in a workplace buddy program. We also work with Mental Health Support Workers, to ensure New Talent are supported throughout the entire journey

** Note: The training is paid after the New Talent has successfully completed the training and 38 hours of Paid Work. This payment will be paid through their employer.
