We are currently seeking an experienced General Fitter/Machinist to join our team. This is a permanent role for a person that is looking for career stability and a good work/life balance.

This is an outstanding opportunity to work for a Global Supplier of industrial valves and associated equipment (est. 1855), based in St Marys, NSW. Major markets include Refining, Mining, Mineral Processing, Utilities and Channel Partners.

Primary activities will include but not limited to:

Marshalling components
Set up and using centre lathe.
Set up and using radial drill.
Assembling components to build valves.
Testing of finished valves.

The successful applicant will require:

Experience with centre lathes, radial drills and metal working hand tools – no CNC experience necessary
Ability to use and extrapolate in both metric and imperial measurements
Ability to extract and interpret dimensional data from manufacturing drawings
Have a sound mechanical aptitude and knowledge
Well-developed machining skills obtained in a workshop environment
A high attention to detail for machining work and to tolerances
Demonstrate a high degree of flexibility with job tasks
Welding experience is an advantage

Knowledge and experience within the fluid handling industry will be an advantage but more importantly is a positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills in an environment that demands attention to detail.
