I am writing to offer, ideally (and if suitable for a potential candidate) a job position of live-in nanny / housekeeper in conjunction with the accommodation we have available. We are a family of 4 with two young kids – 6 and 7 years old. I am a busy professional running a few businesses and my wife has been recently diagnosed with a chronic illness which prevents her from spending the adequate time with the kids and around the household. We already have a cleaner, so the position will include minimum cleaning duties. I will list below the main duties such position will imply:
- Dropping off and picking up the kids from school (obviously only possible depending on the driving experience in Australia)
- Bedmaking, laundry, folding, tidying, dusting, de-cluttering and keeping kitchen/dining areas clean after meals
- Able to prepare simple meals, snacks and lunches for school, kids’ breakfast
- Help with kids evening routine
- Maintaining household supplies and grocery shopping
- Assisting with the care of pets and tending to indoor plants
Considering that the accommodation we are offering would suit a family, this position could be a suitable temporary and convenient job for one of the parents. I mention that the successful candidate will be remunerated in accordance with the statutory laws and at current job market rates (varying of course in accordance with the level of experience offered). Through the nature of the job, a basic knowledge of English and a trustworthy character would be essential pre-requisites.
